D8 Obuh/Soror Mystica 1997

Journey to the God’s mind by the quartet Warszawska Jesionka was the first record listed in the catalogue of the Soror Mystica label, and released in co-production with Obuh Records based in Lublin. The chamber music created by the quartet with its unusual set of instruments including both electrical (electric guitar, synthesizer) and acoustic ones (accordion, clarinet), escapes any kind of uniform classification. On one hand, improvisation is of essential importance for Warszawska Jesionka's form of musical expression, on the other hand Journey to the God’s mind is made according to a thought-out structure. The mix of contemporary sound, medieval mystical tradition and the pastiche character of the quartet's name shows that the album is clearly of postmodern discent.
